This is a trap

In the dentist chair. An atmosphere of grey and dirty brown colors. A musty smell. Mice running over the cupboard with long, naked tails. Their shit is everywhere. To my left there is an aquarium, its oxygen pump humming, subdued sounds of bubbling water mingle with the  sizzling of a lab coat, occasional steps, the noise of rubber gloves being put on.

This is a trap.

“And how is your father doing today?”

And suddenly, like a flash of light in an endlessly gloomy, forever blue sea: “Choose your freedom! Walk out of this! Your door is open!”

But isn’t freedom an alien concept within mother’s eternally undisturbed blue soup? Doesn’t freedom disrupt the chain of events written down by the fair hands of evolution … fate …. nature ….
